Jeremy Flores Wins 2019 Quiksilver Pro France

It was the final day of the 2019 Quiksilver Pro France. The waves were well overhead. The wind was crisp and offshore. The sun had just risen and the sky looked beautiful. Jeremy Flores was in the first heat and found a perfect tube on his very first wave.

From that point forward, it was pretty clear that it was Jeremy’s day.

He dropped the highest heat total in every single round, beating Jordy Smith in the Round of 16, Ryan Callinan in the Quarters and Jack Freestone in the Semis to earn a spot against Italo Ferreira in the final.

And, of course, he started that heat with the same strategy he’d been employing all day: Standing in tubes. Within five minutes, he put a 9.67 on the board.

Jeremy continued to do what he does best: Stand in tubes. The crowd went wild with every wave and by the time it was finished, Jeremy had put up 15 points and became the first Frenchman to win the Quiksilver Pro France. The trophy will look good next to the brass from his other CT wins at Teahupo’o and Pipe.

In an emotional post-heat interview, Jeremy dedicated his win to Pierre Agnes. The beach was filled with cheers, tears and beers as the sun began to sink into the Atlantic.

What a day.

Also, we have to give a shoutout to Leonardo Fioravanti for making the Semis in his first event back from a shoulder injury. Nice work, boys.
