“More than anything, I just want to leave my own mark.”
When it comes to surfing, that is Michael February primary goal. And, at age 25, he’s already off to a good start.
Mikey rides waves like nobody else. He’s got a style that’s impossible to manufacture. He’s also got the uncanny ability to make a full-roter look like it came from an era when people didn’t refer to surfing as a sport. Every turn, every movement seems artistic.
This year, he’s been turning a lot of heads as the world’s first non-white African surfer. The Inertia had him tell the story of how he got to where there.
