Matt Banting has had an epic week surfing. First he nailed two 9-point waves at the Newcastle’s six-star Surfest last weekend, winning the event. Then on Friday, Matt was one of 16 vying for a Quiksilver Pro wildcard. And he smashed it securing himself a spot in the comp. In round 1, heat 5 he’ll be up against Kelly Slater and Matt Wilkinson. Not bad for a 19-year old from Port Macquarie. Make it golden, Matt, make it golden.
