He was 23 yrs old!How important is music / lifestyle footage / variety of tricks / cool destinations?I'm not too critical on all the lifestyle stuff or where it is exactly. All I wanna see is some good surfing and a good song. When it's all said and done, when the clip ends you should have me psyching to go surf.
Mikey Wright
#YGAir - Send it !

Mikey doesn’t hold back. Actually, we’re not even sure if Mikey knows how to hold back. He goes big every section, every surf. As a result, he stomps some of the most beastly airs in the game. There’s no better judge.

The opportunity that Quiksilver is giving them is something that money can’t buy.

He’s fast. He’s fiery. And he’s won two CT events. You’d have a hard time finding a more perfectly well-rounded surfer than Jeremy Flores. So, it should go without saying that Jeremy knows how to put together a fine combo.

Q&A
THE EVENT What does it mean to be a judge for Young Guns Surf?I’m super stoked. Being a judge in Young Guns lets me see all the new talent that’s coming up from and early age!Do you wish you had a competition like this when you were a #YoungGun?Yes I definitely wish I had something like this when I was coming up. With where technology is and social media, the game is going to new levels
ROUND 1 What are you looking for in a solid #YGComboI'm simply looking for a combinations of huge turns, big rail carves followed by a big air or something special. I want to see the kids that can turn any kind of wave into a wow factor. What are some tips to throw down the best #YGCombo?Go at it 100%. Push as hard as possible on a couple different sections on the same wave. Turn an average wave into something special. Don’t pull back. Attack every section and every opportunity you get on the wave
ROUND 2 What makes a good movie part?I love to seeing a solid combination of manoeuvres, but you can’t beat one huge turn on a critical section. A good movie part shows good variation. One wave might be a massive carve, and the next wave might be an air. The other thing i love to see is surfers showing some balls and surfing in bigger waves. You don’t even have to make the wave, just show some solid commitment in a big slab or close out. That’s what is exciting for me.What was your favourite movie section growing up?Andy irons in Momentum. So good. Rob Machado in Drifting was rad, and Taj in Sabotaj. But you can’t go past Slater’s surfing out Trestles in Kelly Slater in Black & WhiteHow important is music / lifestyle footage / variety of tricks / cool destinations?I use to love watching clips of the best surfers in the world surfing shitty waves. That’s what used to get me psyched! I think kids are starting to froth more on raw footage in any kind of conditions again. A lot of people love watching the lifestyle and destination stuff because not everyone is lucky enough to be able to travel, so watching these clips or beautiful locations allows people dream of being there.
